Sounds like a dream come true? Still at 21 years later a small chord of resentment strikes whenever new Mums talk about their “dream sleepers sleeping 6 hour stretches at 6 weeks!”
Anyone who’s suffered through what feels like years of sleepless nights wrestling a baby that refuses to play by the baby book rules will understand. Some babies just don’t read the literature before birth. Others seem to come out having swallowed the manual. Eventually however they all get there – some sooner than later (Grade 1)!!! And believe it or not you will survive – though some days admittedly it’s barely.
Don’t forget to laugh – I clearly remember trying everything and helpful people suggesting I try…..
